Our History
Our family's relationship with our food began to shift during our ten years living on a sailboat, island-hopping from one remote spot to another. We experienced firsthand the challenges of sourcing fresh produce and meat in such isolated locations, which highlighted the fragility of food sources.
This awareness sparked a desire to become more self-sustaining and intimately connected with our food's origins. In 2016, we made the decision to return to land and purchased a farm where we could raise chickens, keep bees, and cultivate a garden.
In 2021, while casually house-hunting, we stumbled upon a larger property in Okeechobee, Florida. The allure of the land, complete with a herd of beef cattle and a charming country home, captured our hearts instantly. Intrigued by the prospect of turning sunshine and rain into nutrient-rich grasses to nourish our newfound bovine companions, we delved into research late into the night.
As we explored the realm of beef farming, we encountered the teachings of Gabe Brown, a proponent of regenerative agriculture focused on restoring soil health. Inspired by his methods, we began implementing regenerative techniques and witnessed promising results almost immediately.
Since then, we've poured our resources and energy into improving both our land and our cattle. Our mission is to cultivate healthy soil teeming with diverse forage, fostering contented animals and ultimately delivering a more nutritious end product for both our family and yours.
What is it like to buy beef in bulk?
We sell beef shares. 1/4, 1/2 are our most popular but some people even prefer 1/16 & 1/8 shares. We try to work as best we can with our customers.
Currently, the cows are getting their fill of fresh summer grass. Once they meet the weight to process we will send an email letting our subscribers know that beef will be available online so they can make a deposit.
